Cultivating Ethics in Writing Blog

Blog is now recognized as one of the most influential online media to voice their thoughts. As online media, blogs are a means of communicating online. The authors a blog called bloggers, come from the various circles. Although not all have a journalistic background, through the online media that is accessible by Internet users, anyone can now publish his writings.

The emergence of various community blog is making the power of bloggers in voicing their message online no doubt. Even blogs are used as a medium for the publication of writings of its academic and scientific, has been widely used as a reference for various studies.
Like a paper can be accessed and read by all Internet users, of course, necessary in writing a blog also rules concerning the ethics of communicating online.
In recent years, to improve the quality of writing blogs and the bloggers themselves, there are some rules, both written and unwritten. Written, of course, related to the legal implications of a paper published through the blog.
A number of the rule of law as' means of coercion "for Internet users to be more careful in writing on their blogs. In Indonesia there ITE Law, Press Law, and Criminal Code that could ensnare the blog author who is considered unlawful. In addition the Act in any field of intellectual property rights also serve to protect intellectual property rights of bloggers or internet users in general.
While the rules are not written for bloggers currently known by the term 'Blogging Ethics' or 'Ethics Writing Blog'. Speaking of ethics is of course very high level, because ethics always co-exist with the norm. This perceived 'good' or 'not good' by humans and has not been formulated in a formal state law, in part a realm of ethics in addition to the realm of religion. That is why, until now, even the truth, 'Blogging Ethics' still be something controversial in the sense that clearly has not been agreed upon, the limits of what can and can not be done by a blogger.
Speaking of Ethics, in a word it contained three terms:Nilai-nilai/Norma-norma moral be hold a person or group in regulating their laku.Kumpulan moral principles or values, such as codes of ethics. The science of 'good' or 'bad'.
In etymology, derived from the Greek Ethics: ETHOS which means CHARACTER.While MORAL derived from the MOS (singular) or MORES (plural) which means HABITS.
According to Prof. DR. Nina W. Sham, MS, ethics as the science itself was investigating about the moral behavior that can be approached through three ways, namely:
1. Descriptive EthicsHow to describe moral behavior in a broad sense. He is neutral and just explain that there are on individual morality, culture, or a particular subculture.
2. Normative EthicsBasing on the norms, the norms acceptable to question whether a person / society critically, as to whether something is true / not. Divided into two, namely the General and Special.General: emphasis on common themes as to why the binding norm? How the relationship between responsibility and freedom? Etc..Specifically: an attempt to apply general ethical principles in human behavior.
3. Meta-ethicsAnalyzing the logic of action in relation to 'good' or 'bad'.
If ethical theory above is associated with real life in society, would be about a few things like:Development of community life that are faced with many moral views are mixed.
Modernization that swept all areas of public life that result in a change of mindset. The ability to face foreign ideologies that influence
Because of the wide scope of Ethics as a science that, until now, arguably, among bloggers has been no definite agreement on Blogging Ethics itself, in addition to the things that has become a habit that is considered good and bad, right and wrong.
My own opinion, in this case that the more civilizing Indonesian bloggers blogging ethics, preferring to invite to agree on things that are good and true in writing a blog each.
Below, important things that are not written but I believe to be approved by the bloggers to protect themselves and to avoid unnecessary trouble.
1. Sources includeOften we get information from a variety of other online media at the time wanted to write on the blog. By law, citing some of the words is not going to break the law, and in intellectual property law still includes a category called 'Fair Use'. However, ethically and morally, if you want to quote, list the sources we quote, for example: the author's name, and web address or blog where we quote them, if possible use the 'link back'.
2. Requesting PermissionDespite quoting a few words or sentences are still in the category of 'Fair Use' in accordance with the Law on Intellectual Property Rights, but did not rule out the original owners would object and cause problems later on. Requested permission from the owner of the writings / photo / picture will be better and remember our own ethical will not necessarily like it if our work is copied or used someone else without permission.
3. Smoking But Not Violate the Rights of OthersDo not because they thought this blog is a personal blog, then we are free to write and post anything without limit (text, photos, pictures, songs) and violates the rights of others. We need to bear in our minds and hearts, that blog visitors can come from anyone and anywhere. Avoid things that violate the rights of others.
4. With respect to number 3 above, what about that we will agree as ethics of writing a blog for fellow bloggers in Indonesia? Write on the deal and agreed as a sign, please place a signature on your sheet that is available.
